International Dance Contest for children and teenagers "Step to a dream 2017"

With the initiative of the Institute of Intercultural Relations and in collaboration with the Municipality of Nafpaktia and the Social Cooperative Enterprise "Go Nafpaktia", the International Dance Contest “Step to a dream” was organized in Nafpaktos with great success. The Festival is under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the Region of Western Greece and the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation in the Peloponnese. The contest, which took place on the morning of Wednesday, June 28, at the Papacharalambio Hall of Nafpaktos, was attended by hundreds of participants from different regions of Greece and Russia.


A professional international jury evaluated the contestants in four dance categories: Classic Ballet, Contemporary, Pop Dance and Traditional Dance. The competition program was intensed and full of colors. All attendees could feel the warm and friendly atmosphere, which turned into a real celebration of dance.


The competition day was completed with the MASTER-CLASS PARTY, where the children learned basic steps of Greek and Russian traditional dances, danced Hip-Hop choreographies and finally, all together were entertained with disco music.


29/06/17 A GALA for the Step to a Dream contest was held at the historic picturesque harbor of Nafpaktos city. The love and respect for Art, as well as the warm acceptance of the audience, created a beautiful atmosphere, without borders, full of love and harmony. The natural beauty of the landscape, the friendly attitude of all the city's inhabitants and the excellent organization of all the events of the competition left the best impression to all participants of "STEP TO A DREAM", who enjoyed an unforgettable experience.


With the success of the Festival, the aims of the competition are fulfilled: the continuous and lasting development of aesthetics, the moral and spiritual education of the new generation and the strengthening of children and teenagers in support of cultural exchanges between countries.
